A community centre in Wolverhampton closed by the local authority and rescued by the community. They had an area of wasteland unused full of weed but no funds to convert this into a growing and learning space.

Darren Rudge created a design that gave raised beds for growing food and children to learn how plants grow.

A sensory garden, bug hotel and seating areas to relax and a pergola.

All elements of this garden were donated by companies like Ikea, and volunteers from Wates Construction and city of Wolverhampton College helped to construct the garden.

Featured on BBC Midlands Today and throughout the weeks build BBC WM this garden made a vast difference to the lives of the people living around the big venture.
