An Attractive but Low Maintenance Driveway Planting

This property had undergone considerable modernisation giving a clean modern living style. Darren Rudge was commissioned to create an attractive but low maintenance driveway planting that leads via a flight of steps to a formal raised bed area as you enter the property.

After the importation of a considerable amount of top soil a lively planting was put into place that consists of trees, shrubs and perennials topped off with grasses. This gives colour and interest through out the year and is planted through a weed suppressant membrane topped with bark mulch to give very low maintenance.

The effect created is a warm and inviting feel that is clean and crisp; the colours and textures are muted and balanced by the incorporation of turf in the lower borders. A finishing touch is the incorporation of a low wildlife friendly hedged planted using Fagus (Beech) and Crataegus (Hawthorne). The combination of all these elements certainly gives this property its needed and deserved ‘Kerb Appeal’.
