Continuum was awarded a Royal Horticultural Society Silver Medal (2009) in the show garden category.
Co-designed with fellow design colleague and lecturer Helen Wood, Continuum is a garden where events of the past and plans for the future, meet in the present.
The garden illustrates how an outdoor space evolves over time to reflect changing family life; muted colours of clematis and honeysuckles create a sense of calmness, with construction materials acting as a constant reminder of the past. The ethos of the garden is summed up by a glass sculpture by Peter Newsome called 'The Journey' ; reflecting the journey the garden has travelled through to arrive at this point.
