An elderly couple in their mid 80's who have been married for 60 years felt it was time to have a space where they could relax; with the brief being to create a space that was 'classical but contemporary'.
A circular theme was used in this garden to give movement and flow with ascending raised beds for ease of maintenance; constructed in the classical red brick with a Staffordshire blue coping.
The patio was constructed using natural sandstone paving with waste bins hidden away neatly by the use of a timber store. To celebrate 60 years of marriage a 'love seat' was also included.
The planting gives colour and interest throughout the year and with limited space fruit is trained to trellis in an espalier form against the south facing walls; with herbs incorporated that the lady of the household uses in her cookery.
