Cultivating young minds; a garden of investigation, stimulation and play for the children of Little Bloxwich School
Darren Rudge Landscape and Garden Design were commissioned to install a garden that would stimulate children and get them to investigate their environment linking to objectives to be achieved in the national curriculum.
This design incorporates a number of areas that included a work area for children to plant vegetables or bedding plants and watch them grow.
We also included a sensory garden using plants that stimulate the senses of touch, feel, movement, smell and colour; this area included a rustic pergola that can be covered to give shade on those hot summer days and timber raised beds.
A Jurassic area was incorporated where fossil and ammonite paving is included, with an area to dig for bones and a bespoke dinosaur egg water feature. Crunchy gravel is stabilised using an anti slippage system and a nautical compass paving kit points to the North Star.
